LobStar Creator Spotlight: Jamieson Alcorn on Building the World of LobStar

If LobStar feels like a story that’s been simmering for a while — that’s because it has.
Jamieson Alcorn, writer, editor, and publisher at Very Big Comics, has been crafting this world for over a decade.

“It started as a weird joke about superheroes in Maine,” Jamieson says. “Then it turned into something bigger — about small towns, responsibility, and what happens when the status quo isn’t worth protecting.”

Jamieson first broke into publishing in 2018 with The Pub Crawl Anthology, and has since edited and produced Fairytales from Mars and Museum of the Uncanny. His writing credits include The White Ravens and a story in the Holiday Spirits Vol. 3 anthology by Orange Cone.

Outside comics, Jamieson serves as Managing Editor and Art Director for two Dungeons & Randomness TTRPG books — and appears regularly on their podcast.

“LobStar has everything I love: strange mythology, local weirdness, and ordinary people caught in extraordinary stories.”

LobStar is available on Kickstarter now.
